Rhododendrons at Kenwood House

Sometimes you happen upon places that just take your breath away—this display of rhododendrons at Kenwood House was one of those spots (and no, not just because of my hay fever).
It was doubly special for me. I'm a firm lover of all things floral, but secondly, rhododendrons are the state flower of Washington (where I'm from), so it felt like being right at home (while still in the city of London).
I spotted these stunners on Instagram and knew that I needed to find them. It took three of us to figure out where in London they were, but as they say, teamwork makes the dream work. Katie, Supal and I (who all also happen to be American expats) did some sleuthing and we came up with the exact spot, just outside of Kenwood House.
When we arrived, it was like happening upon a sea of color and we were all taken aback by the beauty of it all. Each of us being bloggers, we did our own take on how we wanted to capture the blooms. I love how each our takes differ, but they all still capture the natural splendor.
I went the outfit photo route. I thought this blue dress (which I missed out on online but lucked upon in a Topshop store) would stand out among all the pink and I think it managed to!
I paired it with some old M.Gemi flats (featured way back here and here) and my new Miu Miu sunglasses, which were a birthday gift from the husband. It's one of my very favorite brands, so getting these was such a special treat!
It was such a fun morning spent outdoors that included more than a few laughs plus plans already made for a future outing to Hampstead. Another good reminder of why I love blogging and living in London.
Until next time,
- Brenda
