As I write this post, it's cloudy and cold here in London, but on our trip to Florence last weekend we lucked out with a day of warm weather. After grabbing some gelato on the way (a must when you're in Italy), my husband and I made our way to the beautiful Boboli Gardens on this sunny Sunday afternoon.
The gardens in the late afternoon are magical. The sun seems to make everything glow - the fountains, marble statues, and pathways. We spent hours strolling around, stopping occasionally to rest in the shade or do our best statue pose impressions.
I absolutely loved the gravel pathways that connect the distinct areas of the gardens. The famous cypress lane is stunning, but I found a less crowded, but equally magical pathway between some very tall, green hedges - perfect for a few photos!
We made our trip to the gardens prior to drinks and dinner, so I made sure to wear something that would be easy for walking around, but stylish enough for our evening out. These M.Gemi shoes fit the bill - flats make for comfortable walking, and the blue satin finish adds some polish!
I paired the shoes with this striped Topshop dress, which I bought at Nordstrom prior to our move to London. I love the timeless look of navy and white stripes and can see myself wearing this dress for years to come.
More on our trip to Florence this week, but until then, arrivederci!
