5 Things You Must Do In Paris
Take in the views | Paris is a beautiful city up close, but in my opinion, it’s breathtaking when you can see sweeping views of the city and it’s iconic landmarks. My favorite spots to catch an incredible view are the Arc du Triomphe for daytime (see down the champs elysee, the Montmartre in the distance and across the river toward the eiffel tower) and the trocadero at night (the best possible vantage point to see the glittering lights of the eiffel tower)
Have a croissant or a pain au chocolate for breakfast | Flaky, buttery, warm, melt-in-your-mouth goodness. It’s a perfect on the go breakfast for a busy day of sightseeing. Calories don’t count when you’re on vacation!
Wander without a plan and notice the charm around every corner | Paris is full of little delights - quirky door handles, art nouveau details and idyllic flower stands. It’s fun to pick a neighborhood and spend the day happening upon pretty details and charming shops. My favorite areas to walk around in are St. Germain and the Marais.
Indulge in macarons whenever possible | Visit Ladurée for the experience the jewel-box like ambiance and Pierre Hermé for the inventive flavors. Decide which you like best and pick up a box to take home (or for the plane - everyone around you will be envious!)
Window shop | As the home to many a flagship store, Paris is known for it’s shopping. Even if you don’t intend to buy anything, it’s magical to walk down the street, look at the window displays and take in the artistry of the clothing and accessories. Walk along Avenue Montainge, have lucnh at L’Avenue, then make a pilgrimage to the original Chanel store at 31 Rue Cambon!
