When we travel, we always create a map beforehand, listing all the places we’d like to visit. It’s incredibly helpful to can group activities by area, which allows us to use our time in any given city more efficiently. But pins on a map don’t prepare you for how things will be once you’re in the country.

With our trip to Sweden, I was so pleasantly surprised by just how beautiful everything was and wanted to share those special spots that stood out (and make for a pretty picture too):

What to Look For in a Work Bag

You know it’s time for a new bag when the current one is fraying on every corner and has handles that look like they’ll give out at any moment. Not ideal when I’m out and about nearly every day, using said bag from dawn until dusk!

Most days I work from my desk at home, but other times, I might be working from a hotel room in a new city or a cafe in Notting Hill. Going from place to place with plenty of things in tow means that I need a bag that can keep up (and hold quite a lot!).

Through trial and error, I’ve learned that there are a few key features that make for a perfect work bag. Here’s what I look for!

October Beauty Favorites

Another month has passed by which means it’s time to share another roundup of beauty products that I’ve been loving lately. Last month was a busy one with a trip to Sweden thrown in the mix, so it’s been all about ease. Things that are foolproof and simple to wear, even if I’m short on time or out an about all day. Here’s what I loved most in October:

Changing Leaves, Changing Fabrics

Now that we’re a few days into November, we’re fully immersed in autumn. The mornings are crisp, the days are short and the leaves have gone from green to a gorgeous array of red, yellow and orange.

I use the changing leaves as a signal to switch out the fabrics in my wardrobe—embracing the new season by putting away the linens and lightweight cottons, in favor of cozier fabrics. And this dress, already a firm favorite, is front and center in my wardrobe.

The Most Versatile Piece in My Winter Wardrobe

The most versatile item in my winter wardrobe is an unexpected one—a houndstooth coat. With it’s streamlined tailoring, velvet details and blue, black and red pattern it’s already become the most reached for item in my closet. It looks lovely dressed up or down and can be worn in so many situations.

On a recent trip to Sweden, I inadvertently proved the versatility of this jacket by wearing three very different looks, all topped with this coat. Here’s how I styled this coat three ways while on our jaunt to Sweden:

My Favorite Kind of Necklace

My favorite kind of necklace is one with meaning. I love the idea of wearing something that reminds me of a special moment or in the case of this necklace, a special person.

You may have noticed throughout the years that I love a monogram necklace. It’s my little way of keeping those that I love with me when I go out and about. My newest one might just be my favorite.

Reflections on Three Years in London

It’s been a little over three years since my husband and I made the life changing decision to move to London and quite frankly, it’s hard to imagine a life anywhere else. Yes, even on the rainiest days, I’m still in love with this city.

Without a doubt, moving here has the best decision of our lives and to mark the milestone, I thought I’d reflect back on the past few years with some questions to myself. A fun exercise that’s filled me with so much gratitude towards this place and the people and places that make it so special.

Apple Picking Outside of London

I’ll admit, I’ve googled ‘apple picking near London’ more times than I can count over the last few years, so to finally get out and do it felt wonderful!

This farm ticked off so many autumnal boxes. Squash, pumpkins and plenty of locally-baked goods were on offer at their store, but of course, the star of the show was the apple orchard. Sitting upon a hillside with views of fields, cows, and plenty of trees with beautifully changing leaves, it was such a sight for city eyes.

It’s been a while since I last posted about a few beauty favorites, but I’ve gotten some really good ones since then. I always look for items that are easy to use and will only buy things that have genuinely impressed me.
