October Beauty Favorites
Another month has passed by which means it’s time to share another roundup of beauty products that I’ve been loving lately. Last month was a busy one with a trip to Sweden thrown in the mix, so it’s been all about ease. Things that are foolproof and simple to wear, even if I’m short on time or out an about all day. Here’s what I loved most in October:
Essie Gel Setter Top Coat
This top coat is a perennial favorite, but as I’ve recently recommended it to a few friends (who’ve also loved it), I thought it was worth mentioning! It’s far by the best top coat I’ve tried in terms of keeping my at-home manicure lasting at least four to five days (if not an entire week). It also adds a really lovely shine that mimics the look of a shellac or gel polish, but there’s no tricky removal—just use your regular nail polish remover. I’m all for anything that saves me time and money!
Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in ‘Pillow Talk’
This lip pencil is my little secret for making my lips look just a smidge fuller. It’s a near perfect match to the natural color of my lips, so I use it to ever-so-subtly define them underneath lip gloss. It makes my everyday makeup look just a bit more polished!
Cheeky Nail Polish in ‘Peach & Love’
When we lived in Notting Hill, I used to very occasionally treat myself to a pedicure at Cowshed Spa at Clarendon Cross. They exclusively use their Cheeky polishes which come in a really beautiful and curated set of shades. Essentially whichever color you choose will look good! Since I now live a bit further away (and want to save money), I’ve been doing my own nails, but I still use their polishes. The brush is wider and matches the curves of your nail bed making application essentially foolproof. My favorite shade of late has been this one, which I find to be the perfect subtle peach.
Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color in ‘Regal’
Earlier this year at the Instameet I attended, we each received a burgundy shade of this lip color in our goody bags. I instantly fell in love and I’ve since added several more colors to my collection. It’s easy and foolproof to apply like a lip gloss, but the color is rich and buildable. I first wore this classic red shade on our trip to Sweden and no doubt it’ll get plenty of use come the holiday season.
Byredo Sunday Cologne
Ever since spying this in Liberty a few months ago while out and about with Briony (we both share a serious love for this store!), this scent has been on my mind. I usually wear citrus but this one is a bit more complex and I think it’ll be perfect to wear throughout winter. And of course the name couldn’t be more on brand! I finally made the plunge and purchased this in Stockholm as something to remember our trip by (after all, it’s a Swedish brand!).
Until next time,
Brenda
