April Beauty Favorites
Each month, I invariably find a few new beauty products that I love. I've never been too good with beauty—growing up, the most makeup I ever wore was a sweep or two of brown mascara, but now with the prevalence of YouTube videos and Instagram stories, I'm growing a bit more confident with my beauty routine—and finding and including new products that I love—on the regular.
Here are five products that I've been loving this month—I think you might too!
Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick
Okay. Lipstick still scares me a bit, but this 'Sexy Sienna' shade is a gorgeous (almost neutral) coral that is infinitely wearable—and makes me feel a bit sxities siren on vacation in Italy.
Glossier Body Lotion
While most other people are obsessing over this cult brand's Cloud Paint, I'm partial to their Body Hero lotion. It quite literally saves my arms and legs from the perils of dry winter skin without any dreaded greasy residue in sight. Quite the hero indeed.
Bobbi Brown Highlighter
I only tried the Bobbi Brown brand last year, but everything I've bought so far has been wonderful. The newest addition to my routine is their Shimmer Brick Compact in Beige. I carefully (so as not to ruin that gorgeous compact) swipe over foundation for a subtle glow. Once summer comes around, I'll swap this one for their Bronze compact.
Beauty Edit Mayfair Brow Pencil
After years and years of interesting brow shapes, I've finally found Nails and Brows Mayfair who've guided me to a more timeless look. I wanted to recreate the final result at home, so brought home their Brow filler in Dark Dahlia. While I grow back my brows (under their guidance) this helps to define the new shape while also filling the sparse areas.
NARS Primer
Rounding out the list of April beauty favorites is NARS Pore & Shine control primer. I'll admit that it's a bit heavy for everyday, but when I know I'll have a long day or be taking blog photos, I'll apply this after lotion and before makeup. It helps to mask the pores and give a smooth base on which to apply my normal makeup. I'll take anything that gets rid of those pesky pores (if only for a day!).
That's my April in beauty—any suggestions for brands or products to try in May? Maybe it'll be the month I finally learn how to do the perfect cat eye. We'll see.
ps. The bag that the products are coming out of in the top photo is from Oliver Bonas (and actually houses their brush set too).
Until next time,
