The Gal Meets Glam Kaye Dress
My Outfit
Gal Meets Glam ‘Kaye’ Dress | Zara Boots | Le Specs Sunglasses (old) | Sonix Bag (sold out in yellow, but I’ve linked a beautiful powder blue)
Ever since their launch in April, I’ve been wanting to add a couple of Gal Meets Glam Collection dresses to my wardrobe. Julia Engel is a blogger I’ve followed for years and it’s so exciting to see someone work so hard to see their goals realized.
As you’d expect, all the dresses are simply stunning. Like Julia’s style, they’re feminine, elegant and timeless. With so many of the designs being subtle nods to the past, I love that these are dresses that will never go out of style.
Despite growing up and almost exclusively wearing jeans and overalls, I’ve always eyed vintage fashion in awe. I remember my grandma having a few beautiful dresses from the 1940’s and 50’s in her closet that my sister and I would occasionally try on when we were younger.
Gal Meets Glam Collection September Favorites:
The detailing on them was beautiful as was their velvet and tulle fabrics!. The silhouettes were something I’d never seen elsewhere—fitted in the waist and flared at the hem, and usually finished with a belt or with buttons.
I was immediately enamored with the Gal Meets Glam dresses as they brought this eye to detail forward in a modern way. When I put on this dress for the first time, I felt a little like a kid trying on my grandma’s dresses—elegant, poised and honestly happy.
This Kaye dress was one that immediately caught my eye when I scrolled through the lookbook earlier this summer. The skinny belt covered in matching fabric is such a thoughtful detail and the hemline was made for twirling.
I’ve spoken at length on why I love to dress smart and this The Kaye dress makes it so easy. Julia says it matters how dresses make you feel, and I always feel confident, elegant and at ease in this one because the cut and fit instantly make me look polished.
Not to mention, I’ve received compliments from strangers every time I’ve worn this—that’s truly a feat here in London!
I’ll be shopping the September collection today (I’ve got my eye on this dress) and I’ve shared a few favorites in the middle of the post.
I’ll always favor timeless over trends and isn’t it so lovely that there’s a brand to turn to for classic dresses fit for everyday life?
Until next time,
—Brenda
(This post is in no way sponsored—I’ve just been genuinely impressed by the quality, fit and aesthetic of all the Gal Meets Glam Collection dresses I’ve bought!)
