When planning our recent trip to Palm Springs, there were a few things I knew I needed to do: check out the midcentury architecture, try a date shake, and make a visit to nearby Cabazon for the retro dinosaurs.

No other city has made we want to deck myself out in vibrant colors quite like Palm Springs - where all the houses seem to have colorful doors. Naturally I packed all the colorful dresses I own for our time down in the desert.

Because I have an obsession with matching my surroundings, I wore my pink flamingo-printed shift dress dress for our outing to 'that pink door.'
