My Favorite Kind of Necklace
My Outfit
Anthropologie Monogram Necklace | Gal Meets Glam Collection Dress (past collection, current dresses here) | Madewell Tote | Leopard Flats c/o Boden | Le Specs Sunglasses (similar pair here)
My favorite kind of necklace (or any kind of jewelry for that matter) is one with meaning. I love the idea of wearing something that reminds me of a special moment or in the case of this necklace, a special person.
You may have noticed throughout the years that I love a monogram necklace—I like to wear the initials of those I love on my sleeve (or well, over my heart!). Until now, I’ve only had necklaces with the initials of my two cats, Cocoa and Tella. It’s my little way of keeping them with me when I go out and about.
But I thought that perhaps I ought to add my husband’s initial to my collection too!
When I was browsing through Anthropologie recently, this monogram necklace immediately caught my eye. I love the larger letter and the subtly colored crystals. It’s modern but elegant and I’ve already paired it with so many outfits, ranging from jeans and breton shirts to dresses, like this one.
I wore this look while out an about a couple weeks ago—seeing autumn sights in the morning followed by lunch and a spin class later in the day. Notice the oversized tote that’s hiding tennis shoes and my workout clothes!
And can you believe I actually curled my hair? It’s been months (maybe even over a year) since I last wore my hair like this and I really like it! Plus it subtly matches the ruffled hem of the dress. Yes, it was intentional!
The wrap style of this dress is so flattering and so easy to wear (though it would have been easier on a less blustery day!) and perfect for my lunch date. And of course I love any dress that incorporates a bow—remember this post? I wore it with my current favorite pair of Boden flats for a day on the go.
And even though I was out and about all day with friends, I kept my husband with me in the form of the little necklace. Isn’t that special? Next time I’ll pair it with the cats’ necklace too!
Whose initial(s) would you wear?
Until next time,
Brenda
