How to Style A Little White Dress…or at least how I like to style one, and for me, it’s all about a classic color combination for a classic look.
When you hear ‘little white dress’ you might be reminded of a bridal shower or engagement party, but I think there’s so much more to this garment. Like a blank canvas, it can be turned into anything and be fit for any occasion, really, depending on on what you choose to add to it.
The addition of a few black, white and gold accessories turns this into a timeless look that’ll take you plenty of places. And since you’re literally starting out with a blank canvas, I decided to add a little bit of sparkle in the form of a very glittering window display in the background. Well, that and some jewelry too!
This Gal Meets Glam Collection dress is without a doubt one of my favorite items of clothing–when I first put it on, I thought, now this is how I want to feel in everything I wear. The sleeves with subtle tufting on the shoulder, the high waist and the full skirt that’s made for twirling are all details that I immediately fell in love with.
Get The Look:
I highlighted the waist with a skinny black belt, paired the look with classic pumps and added my favorite oversized shades for a dose of sixties style. These photos were taken last month (don’t worry, there’s a coat not pictured!) before I met a friend for fancy tea.
As such, I decided to accessorize more than I might normally and added this pearly barrette you’ve probably seen everywhere on Instagram, a pair of old earrings (remember them from this post?) and this bumble bee necklace (a sweet gift from my husband). Tea in a fancy salon is a special occasion, so why not look the part?
All in all, a look classic look that surely won’t go out of style anytime soon. And one that I know I’ll be wearing again, no matter what the occasion (plus or minus a few accessories!).
Until next time,
Brenda
