Oh wisteria season, we've been waiting for you! It's a springtime phenomenon that turns London into a purple (and oh-so-Instagrammable) wonderland.

It's easy to see why—this gorgeous vine crawls up the already beautiful facades, twisting around the columns, iron fences and balconies where its blooms then cascade gently down.

It's certainly an awe-inducing sight. But you know what all those #wisteriahysteria photos don't capture?

The scent. And it's simply dreamy.

Strong enough that you can smell down the block, yet delicate enough not to overwhelm. It's a beautiful smell that's worth wandering around London for.

And it's a good reminder that it's so important to stop and take in the smell for a moment or two rather than just take a photo from afar. It's worth it to embrace the blooms, as they won't be around for too long.

That said, here are my favorite spots to find this wonderful vine in West London:

Lansdowne Crescent

(between Ladbroke Grove and Lansdowne Rise)

This is the stunning home pictured above. It would be pretty on it's own, but it becomes incredibly special with the vine going up and around the entirety of the facade. And a friend of the owner kindly mentioned that the original vine was planted 47 years ago. Very impressive!

Bedford Gardens

(near A204 and The Churchill Arms pub)

You might know this one—it's that pink door, perfectly framed by an arch of wisteria. It's a stunner and only a very short stroll from Notting Hill Gate station.

Growing up, this what I imagined the homes in London might look like. How perfect that homes that look like they're out of a storybook exist in real life?

Stafford Terrace

(between Argyll Road and Phillimore Gardens)

One of the larger wisteria displays in Kensington, this one has plenty of blooms near the sidewalk so you can get a beautiful and up close look (and smell) of the blooms. This year, there was a fair amount of scaffolding in the way, but it's stunning nonetheless and that didn't get in the way of the incredible scent!

Any West London wisteria spots I've left off my list? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time,
